Beginning in September 2005 and continuing through January 2007, I provided legal consulting services to the Ethiopian Intellectual Property Office (EIPO) in Addis Adaba, Ethiopia, which include giving written comments and  making recommended changes concerning Ethiopian trademark law.  I also authored a new geographical indication law and a new undisclosed information law for Ethiopia as well as an intellectual property rights enforcement strategy.  In addition, I authored new regulations for the current Ethiopian trademark law; conducted training sessions on intellectual property rights at the EIPO and led a two-day seminar on geographical indication protection for government officials, local attorneys, and industry representataives during a three-week period in Addis Ababa; in addition, I participated in writing the intellectual property rights portion of a Commercial Law and Institutional Reform and Trade Diagnostic Activity  report for Ethiopia.
